Rainy Season Flooding

Rainy Season Flooding 1

Yesterday’s storm blew in quickly with heavy winds and dark skies. Jen and I were speaking to one of our student’s families about an upcoming girls’ leadership camp and saw a cinderblock wall get blown over by the wind. We raced home on our bicycles and made it back just before the skies opened up. Heavy rain fell for close to an hour, flooding our front yard and the local dirt roads. The picture above was taken during the storm and the photo below was taken the next day. Most of the roads flood quickly during storms but also drain quickly after. Roads are generally passable within an hour of a storm ending.
