Non-Market Day

Non-Market Day

On a non-market day in our town the vast majority of the market is empty, as seen above. Below, 10 – 15 regular vendors sell the basics. Tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, greens, okra, and plantains are available. Locally grown and dried staples like beans and rice are available in addition to locally produced bread, smoked fish, fried fish and palm oil. Other available staples include pasta, soap, salt, pepper, bay leaves and bouillon cubes. The vendors congregate along the main road that passes through the market.
