Locally Made Cooking Implements

Local Cooking Tools

Local artisans abound; many items that are only found mass produced by large manufacturers in the U.S. are produced by hand locally. Here are some of purchases we’ve made that are used for cooking: hand-carved mortar and pestle; locally made grill that is repurposed from scrap metal; handmade fan woven from palm. The fan is used to stoke the flames of charcoal or wood for cooking. I’ve been thinking about having our local metal worker replicate a charcoal chimney but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
