This morning I rode my bike to buy bread (fresh, hot baguettes available day and night) and saw that a 10k run was moments from starting in the center of our town. I raced home and changed and came back to run in the race. No fee for racing, water stations along the way and a top ten finish. The top ten finish is a bit misleading, however, as there were only about 30 of us. And half the runners were barefoot. And one guy was running in furry Uggs. Another in black wingtips. But, still, it’s been a good first week in our new town.
