Our Peace Corps Benin Cohort

In an attempt to communicate more regularly, I’m posting a picture a day of our time in Benin. I’m already three months behind. Better late than never. The pictures will start with a wrap-up of our first months to get up to speed with our current timeline. I hope you enjoy seeing a bit of our lives in Benin.

This is a picture of our cohort of about 60 volunteers with our language teachers and other trainers. About a month into training, the Peace Corps staff gathered us together to tell us where we would be posted after training. Jen and I learned that we would not be moving very far from our homestay in the capital, Porto Novo. Our town is only a 15 minute taxi ride away. As volunteers, each of us would be posted in different parts of the country. About the size of Pennsylvania but with much worse road conditions, some volunteers would have to travel more than 15 hours to get to their eventual new homes.
