Over the past several months you’ve seen various views of Pico d’Antonia, the beautiful mountain that loomed over our home valley in Cape Verde. In fact, our valley is bounded by two memorable ridgelines: Monti João Teves–the peak shown here–sits at the foot of our valley. For the nine weeks that Adam and I are in Pre-service Training in Benin, I’ve scheduled posts of this other stupendous mountain.
Between the long days, homestay, language learning, and cultural adjustment, I won’t have much time to write posts during training. Once we’re settled into our new site, I’m going to start looking for a new weekly feature that will reflect our day-to-day lives there, and I’m sure I’ll have tales to tell. In the meantime, please enjoy the photos from Cape Verde.
This week’s picture of our other mountain…

Taken on the same trail that I showed in the previous post, only this time at the tail end of the dry season.
