nos montanha :: our mountain

We live in a valley near the foot of Pico d’Antonia, the highest peak on Santiago. Every day we are lucky to see the changing face of this beautiful mountain, and we wanted to share some of those wonderful views with you.

This week’s picture of our mountain…

February 7, 2012

5:30 p.m.

In last week’s picture you saw a little bit of the haze that has been enveloping us thanks to the  Harmattan winds, locally known as the bruma seka (dry wind). Since we live inland and are pretty well surrounded by mountains, we haven’t experienced the bruma (wind) so much as the seka (dry). Still, things got a little crazy last week when a thick dust descended and hung around for about a day.

Can you tell what is missing from this photo? I’ll give you a hint: it’s a photo of sunset.
