There was nothing Beninese about our breakfast or anything else we ate on Christmas. Me and Jen had the day to ourselves and decided to celebrate with a feast. Even before the coffee was done brewing Jen had the first batch of cookies in the Dutch oven. Double chocolate peanut butter cookies (above) made a fine start to the day. We followed that with some za-atar french toast and freshly squeezed orange juice along with our coffee. A lovely start to an excellent Christmas day.
