We hosted a Thanksgiving potluck at our house. Other Peace Corps volunteers, other expats and some Cape Verdean friends came together to celebrate. We grilled turkey wings on the barbecue and had all the fixins’ – stuffing, corn bread, corn on the cob, green bean casserole and lots of desserts. It was warmer than our typical Northeast U.S. Thanksgiving and there was no football to watch, but all in all, an excellent Thanksgiving.
